I'm new here... sigh.... I like your "Softening the Edges" very much. The section with the round holes near the top remind me of grain grinder screens I make bug eyes and wings from. 8-)

I may do that. Meanwhile, I'm going to look through this entire thread. Lot of great projects....

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
My photos all come out sideways.
Learning curve ahead.... I'm working on it.

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
Are you using the Tapatalk app on your phone, or trying to use your phone like a computer and going through the Internet?
The Tapatalk app is much easier to use

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
I've been using my phone through the internet. It has given me a semi permanent headache from squinting at the "full site" feature on here. I have not tried Tapatalk. I will now though. I was leery of it for some reason. I have a froze up laptop but always find other stuff to spend those bucks on.

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
Tapatalk most likely lacks a lot of features the full site provides but I can quite adequately post pics and annoy just as well if not better than other members.

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
Well, I'm on tapatalk. Another learning curve. I can't look back on who I'm replying to and see what they said. Maybe I'm using it wrong.

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
A work in progress.
At work have this little trailer I am modifying to carry scuba tanks and other gear. It is expected to be towed behind a Gator or other slow speed off road vehicle.
Instead of welding the zinc coated expanded to the frame, I am looking at using self tapping screws and washers. I may also add flip down doors to help hold the tanks in place, or just some small cargo netting/straps.
I still need to prime and paint.

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
I always have an ear for suggestions and new ideas. Thanks for your comments. I got a bunch of those plates that I used for free and they all had a big ol hole punched in them I didn't feel like patching so most have that round mouth look. I did some with square teeth out of bearing lockwashers though. They came our really bizzare looking. I usualy stick to black pipe when I can. 8-).

Lol... I like that idea of flipping the nose. You could burn pipe tobbaco in it, eh?

Re: Scrap metal art or projects
I always wanted to work a churchwarden pipe into one of my sculptures. Maybe hook it up to a crude air pump on a timer and have it puff on it and blow smoke out the nostrils occasionaly.
