I do not have any experience with these except to help make them empty.

My weak memory still remembers Pat's posts on the scuba tanks with the side cut out and shelves installed. A guy on the cigar forum I frequent wants to see what I can up with for an ashtray and I'm thinking that might be a cool idea. Steel table top with a hole in the middle to hold an ash bowl with stick holders.

I thought it was illegal to make and use a still, yet you’re still around to talk about it

I believe you are mistaken......or is it state by state. Here, I believe you are limited to 200 gallons. You can't sell it without a great deal of red tape.

My friend makes some very nice stuff, about 150 to 160 proof.

I honestly don’t know. Shows like moonshiners leads me to believe it is illegal.

I only make about a gallon at a time. So I’m not too worried.

Illegal to sell. Here, you can give it away, or self consume.

Tricky to make it safely. Beginning of a run & end of a run there is some toxic stuff produced. My father was in Valdosta Georgia a while in WWII He told of soldiers dying, & others going blind from bad moonshine.

Good point. I'm not suggesting anyone make their own. If you decide to, just make sure you study up just like anything else you would make. In my opinion though, It's so easy a Hillbilly can do it.

    10" rotary table $105
    10" three jaw chuck $55
    8" rotary table $50
5 boxes of hold down tooling $60
1 box of double end mills $55
2 boxes of lathe bits, box of boring bars, 3 rivet guns, hacksaw blades and some weird three sides knives, 20 pieces of round stock I am going to use for third hand weights. These items were unsold so I offered $36 and it was accepted

Add in the auctioneers premium and I am out $420. I am happy and may sell some of the items to recoup my expenses

    The Official Craigslist Score Thread!

I spent $70usd on drill press vises today.

    One little homemade machinist vise
    Two Craftsman
One very small Palmgren angle vise
One bigger no name with extremely smooth tight tolerances and acme screw.

All in really great- new condition and NO dings or errant drill holes.

I will most likely sell the three on the left to recover my initial investment and keep these two ...

As you can see this one made itself at home

I got this 4 1/2” jaw 70 pound made in USA Craftsman vise this morning from one of my “estate sale-ers “. Made pre WWII for Craftsman by Rock Island.

The swivel was frozen and a previous owner had torched a hole on the slide.

Got everything unstuck, cleaned and lubed and filled in that hole with weld.

Nice find. You guys got me all excited about Craigslist so I went and rechecked the one for Winnipeg. Nothing but overpriced crap and crackheads.

You've been hitting that Root Beer pretty hard lately. Better be careful or you'll have to spend another weekend drinking those green slimy things...
