Last weekend's pickup from my junk/scrap guy. Mostly stoked about the roller work rest and the wheel - any ideas what it's from? $15 for everything.

And today I found a bunch more ball mill balls at the mine I was working at.

I wonder if the keyways were for rubber lagging similar to a conveyor pulley?

Very neat wheel, though I wonder if they'd be cogs to grab a conveyor belt. Doesn't seem like enough of them to distribute a load over, likely resulting in a lot of worn out rubber. They could have been primitive keyways to slot a rubber tire into. That's actually pretty old tech and we've seen it used in a lot of places -- like wagon wheels.

Beats me - more pics for the curious. The keyway should mean it's a driven item (pulley/sheave/hub). Bunch of nails driven through it in one spot. Only number I see looks like "293.B", and there is a faint hint of green on one side.

Those nails are rivets for each end of the friction material to get pinned down.

Any opinions on the Hobart 700i plasma cutter? Saw an add for one nearby for $500.

Sadly this isnít a score. Wanted this yesterday at an auction in Gordonville PA. All it needed was a motor and cleanup. It was nice and tight. It sold for $125. Rong Fu RF-25 drilling and milling machine. Iíll never live this one down.

Those ball mill balls are work hardened like you wouldn't believe
Smoked a new cobalt drill bit like it was made of plastic (I had the brilliant idea to make a flail/mace out of one)

Scared to try a carbide bit in the mill.

Anybody need some 240/480V c-face motors? Picked this up from a customer with hopes to rebuild the reducers. Not cost effective and he didn't want them back.

Stripping them down for yard art parts, but I don't have the juice to verify if the motors work (pretty sure they do - the failures were all hard parts in the gearboxes). Anywho, whole bunch of gears and bearings to play with.

Re: The Official Craigslist Score Thread!

We had hell with those motors at the smelter where I worked, they didn't have a bearing in the drive end frame and a splined coupling connected them to the reduction box, they would typically run about 2 weeks before the splines wore & allowed the armature to drop & wipe out the fields, the motors were not available separately. I came up with a bearing that fit the bore in the end frame, made a sleeve for the shaft, pressed the bearing on, and reassembled the motor, my little fix took about 30 minutes per motor and became standard practice as it eliminated a costly problem.

A doozy of a Canedy-Otto drill press. I'm too far away to snag it, but she certainly looks like a good value for the money even with that peckered-up table. Anyone in the NY area been looking for a small drill press? Not too big, not too small, and 100% old-school iron!

$20 for 40+ bore and drill bits. Gotta be some yard art hiding in there somewhere.

Teardown almost complete - need some (bigger) snap ring pliers to take the adapters apart. These things were like doing a puzzle...

I picked up this batch of tools today.
A 4 inch rear sliding jaw vise with no name on it. It looks like someone welded a plate to the bottom of it over the years. I saw few vintage ones online without the extra plate.
Plus a handful of small files, handles and bearings.

    Another FB marketplace score.
The seller listed three wrenches for $20. When I got there she told me to look through a pile of stuff. I ended up with this score and she didn't want more than the original $20.
They were clearing out the belongings of an older family member and if I did not take it, it was going in the dumpster.
