    Yeah, I got BALLS!

Copper is so good right now, it's worth it for the mine I go to to run all the ball mill waste through a screen plant to get the steel out of the ore, then reload the ore back into the process.

There is literally a pit full of stray grinding balls now. The crew I help out said to take what I want, it's just going to get buried eventually anyways.

A buddy mentioned making a grape bunch out of them. At approx. 8lbs/ea, that'd be one hell of a heavy bunch! I'm not sure they are even weldable...

Oh, they're weldable.... even if only JBWeldable.

What are the rod/spike things? Never seen anything like them before and already have visions of what I'd do with them running through my noggin. Are they mild steel? Cast?

Not sure what the spikes are. Since they seem to wear like the balls and come from the same area of the circuit, has to be something with the tertiary mills.

Looks like they'd make some great tooling for doing sheet metal work.... if they aren't brittle. See if you can heat one up and bend it 90º in the middle.

Depending on the diameter's you could even use them as hammer blanks!

Picked up this 14" delta Rockwell 14" bandsaws with the low speed gearbox for metal cutting. Needs a new blade and the table insert. Pretty good shape overall. Found it on marketplace for $350.

I got this lot from a retired silversmith a few years back. I got a real good deal so I will leave it at that....

New blade and switching around pulleys to get the 220 fpm really improved the cutting and greatly reduced vibration. Now to get various blades in different widths and tooth count to handle a variety of materials and for cutting curves.

I think it will work out good for my uses. Like every used machine tool I've ever bought it required it's share of adjustments and minor fixes to get it working decent.

I checked the backs of the drawers for "treasures" ( 14 carat gold fillings etc) but no joy

My uncle was a dentist. First in the military, then he practiced in Bermuda until he retired. I got a smaller set of drawers from him but the only "treasure" in mine was some dental wax.

Re: The Official Craigslist Score Thread!

The best scores I've gotten from Craigslist has been my welding tanks. Picked up a T size and 2 - 42cf tanks that I swapped and eventually got upgraded at my lws to a T, a 125cf and an 80cf. Cost was pennies on the dollar compared to buying new...

Re: The Official Craigslist Score Thread!

Todays find is a miller 330a/bp with a water cooled 20 torch, "no water cooler unfortunately" foot pedal, stick stinger and 200a tweco copper ground clamp all on a cart with big wheels. Super easy to move around. I'll need to swap out the torch or plumb in a garden hose to try this sucker out. I don't know the ins and outs of this thing just yet. Think I'll try to get the physical manual from miller before using it. It is suppose to be more extensive with usage etc. I'm stoked about getting it. Now to figure out a way to store it indoors so the weather don't beat it up. Its not brand new looking but it's not super ugly either. I can live with it.
