Hey all,

Long time lurker. Time to learn more. Want to focus on TIG and brazing. I suppose learn more about MIG on BIG stuff...like AG and what not.

I'm active on Garage Journal. I'm a big tool hound. Love to use awesome tools and love to restore old ones. Tool and technique is fun to learn.

Thanks, Dave

Robert Hall,

Kev, aka Machine Punk, got me interested in Rivets...particularly solid rivets. Since I don't have a badass leather sewing machine yet, I started using copper burr rivets. And I really like using them.

I also use rivets instead of welding where applicable. Like Kev says, "Rivets are the new duct tape." lol.

Here's some pics of the 1st purse I did for my girl. My first leather project actually. Full grain 8-9oz, copper burr rivets. I figure I have about 40 hours into this one, but that also includes going to and fro the store for this and that etc.

They don't take quite that long anymore, but still very time consuming.

Let's see if I did this right. It is an album on Imgur: http://imgur.com/a/TGtHK
