I bought that one from Lowes a couple years ago and although it is still working the bearing is going out, it rattles and moans and throws grease. It is also quite bulky and does not really fit my hand comfortably (for one handed operation) like the Makita or even the Bosch.

It is a 6-Amp grinder; no guts or balls; it might be ok to allow the kiddies to play with it. I have a lightweight grinder that host a wire brush for light clean up duties. Use the 10 amp plus for grinding and cutting.

It's $20 and better warranty then the HF ones. For a hobby guy it will be fine. Many sellers have these $40, some of the cheap Dewalts are only 7 amps. a sanding disc will work fine. Use it for table clean up.

The main attraction that I see to this Porter Cable grinder is that it's only $20. However, up until about a year ago, I had a 7 amp Hitachi grinder that I bought for about $40. After about a year of moderate use, the bearings blew out on it and it vibrated like crazy. I replaced it with a 13 amp Dewalt 4 1/2" grinder, which I've had for roughly 7 months now under much heavier use. If I remember correctly, I paid about $120 for it. I don't think the thing's even broke in yet. Long story short, I'd go with Dewalt or Milwaukee and something that is at least 10 amps.
