    Re: HTP Welders

I have owned and operated the HTP MIG140 for the past 9 years. Never let me down. And is a great unit for my needs. I purchased the HTP Invertig 201 about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. Although, the Invertig 221 came out shortly after and made me wish I had waited another couple of months. But then, we started looking for a TIG machine at work for some lightweight fabrication work and I was able to get them to sign off on the Invertig 221, so I have access to the new machine too. Haven't fired it up yet as we just got it in. Now to get the rest of the consumables and the gas bottle and compare it to my 201 side-by-side.

For the price I couldn't be happier. Customer service is second to none. The machines are perfect for me.

The HPT welders that I actually see on their website are Italian products produced by STEL and HELVI. Those are good companies with a great value for money, compared with other not China imported machines. The TOP Italian welders manufacturer is SELCO, now under Voestalpine Bohler group control.

It's $500 more. And if you scroll to the bottom of the page you can see what the outputs are on 110V
    $2900 singe or $3600 dual

Is there more differences on the dual or just voltage ? I haven't studied the spec/special effects. Description is about the same on each.

The only other difference is the DV has a PFC circuit so it is more efficient on power, and is more tolerant of generator power.

    Re: HTP Welders

I can’t comment on the current HTP machines, but I bought my 2400 in 2009, 12 years ago and the only repair it has needed was a $20 pot for the wire speed. I am not a pro welder but in addition to being a General Contractor for 40 years, I have 26 acres, a tractor and build and maintain my own implements.

Jeff and his staff at USAweld have always been very responsive to my inquiries and their consumables are quality and priced right.

I would seriously consider their current products if I was in the market, but since my 2400 keeps working perfectly, why bother.

because you're missing out on the performance and convenience that the newer products offer
