Back after a number of years

I've snooping around old threads for a number of weeks... figured I should set up an account. I was a member maybe seven or so years ago but cant remember my old account info for the life of me.

Anyways, I'm 25, live in NYC and work in museum fabrication and construction. I've been welding intermittently for seven years and love it, spent a lot of time strengthening skills while I was in college. All the fancy tree carcass work I've been doing is getting boring and I've had some people asking for welding work.... So, I'm in the market for portable 200A units (thinking the multimatic or the maxstar 200) and considering the prudent decision to get some certification. I'm sure I'll learn something; and if I'm doing work on the street (gates, doors and so on) I think I should have some piece of paper that says I know what I'm doing.

Anyways! I'm well versed in GMAW and SMAW... and the use of 4.5" finger shredders; and intend to teach myself tig. Happy to be back and excited to be getting into things!

Thanks for all the knowledge I've already been gathering. I've come a long way since buying a 90A clarke mig when I was 18 hahaha.
