Tell that to the azzhole doctors who prescribed nearly unlimited oxy. They didn't care, and nobody else did. The result....................incredible numbers of overdose deaths when people couldn't get the oxy, and turned to fentanyl.

They took Purdue Pharma to court, but the doctors who prescribed the sht got away free as a bird. You might not like unions, but doctors have the strongest union on the face of the planet.............it's called the AMA.

Not always true, there's acute versus chronic pain, your thoughts are correct for acute pain, but for chronic pain it's different, I'm on oxycodone 10mg twice a day, it kind of knocks the edge off, but it's supplemented with Tylenol and Ibuprophen, and sometimes Naproxen, all three of the over the counter meds are far worse for your body than oxy. My back injury was on the job so I get workmen's comp, they random test for drugs so I can't have medical marijuana because they follow federal law, my pain management doc supports marijuana but can't give it to me. It's a bunch of BULL EXCREMENT!

They now are trying me on a new compound to apply to my back, it’s cyclobenzaprine HCI 11% gabapentin 16%, Ketoprofen 15%, lidocaine 11%, Prilocaine 11%, you have to apply this 1.5 Grams 3 to 4 times daily. The new muscle relaxers are Tinzanidine 2-4mg tab 4x daily, still on hydrocodone 2-7.5/325 .every 4-6 hours. Well enough about my drug problems. I walk like drunk, my hands shake, still have constant pressure in my back after standing 15-20 minutes it’s pain. This is no fun

The doctors in hospital was thinking die and give me more.
My said stop taking the #%%$$.
I did and two days later I was willing the crawl out hospital 🏥 to get out the #$$#%.

My wife said those muscle relaxers are keeping me from walking straight. Don’t think I care for them too much

    Re: back pain thread

NotaVegetarian ,, I have chronic back, and leg pain,, my BIG dilemma is determining what is causing the pain THAT particular day.

My pain can be from nerve, muscle, joint, and "OTHER". (Other being barometric pressure change pain,)
For muscle, tizanidine is good, but, for me methocarbamol is even better. (I get the methocarbamol from Sams Club, 750Mg is dirt cheap if you are a Prime member)
(NOTE,, gotta be careful, LOTS of prescriptions are cheaper at Sams Club WITHOUT using insurance. ,, Most insurance dictates a minimum price the customer must pay,,Prime is cheaper)

Anyways, when I first startled taking methocarbamol, it relieved pain so well,, I thought it was a sleeping pill.
It turned out that I was just so un-rested from pain, when the pain finally went away, the effect was me wanting to catch up on sleep.
After a couple days, I could take the methocarbamol, and not sleep, I was finally caught up.

I get the 750Mg tablets, and only take half,, 750Mg is cheaper than 500Mg,, go figure.

For me, tizanidine is exactly like a sleeping pill,, I ONLY take it when I can not sleep.
My doc HATES that I have two different muscle relaxers,, but, after a few years, he finally trusts me as to how I use them.
(I do not take either EVERY day,,)

So, be careful that the cause of the pain is not changing THAT day,,
different causes of pain can require different types of meds.
For me, muscle relaxers do little for nerve type pain,,
Nothing seems to help my barometric pressure change induced pain,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    Re: back pain thread

My doctors had on everything thing for back injury .
The MRI showed 5 back injuries in 2018.
But the MRI does not show cancer.
All the gave did not help the pain.
Finally a biopsies was done and found the problem.
FYI back pain is nothing compared to cancer pain.

Last year on chemo the drug to fix side effects of chemo drug. The drug to fix the side effects of first fixer drug. Next a drug to fix the fixer.
In the hospital they gave more drugs which almost kill me.

If read pass posts I down to a RX only due to cancer and new chemo.
    No more blood pressure pills

    Re: back pain thread

Didn't read all the responses but am taking long acting Hydromorphone (8 times stronger than Morphine) 9mg twice a day and can take up to 3 1mg booster pills every 2 hours if required. I used to take 12mg Hydromorphone (Dilauded) twice a day. Whether or not it helps I can't really say because I've never went off it to see if there's any difference. If it is working I must have some pretty good pain because my back aches if I'm on my feet for more than about an hour and is worse if I'm bending and twisting or doing anything physical. I had 2 vertebroplasty procedures to repair 10 compression fractures in my vertebrae. Specialist said my spine is repaired but my kidneys could be causing all the aches and pains. In the last 2 month's I've also had bad aches in my joints. I wake up in my sleep before I have to get up and it's really hard to go back to sleep because I'm aching so much. A nurse said the different season's can also affect how much pain you have.

Seems that a bunch of us are in this boat. Donít drink just donít care for it have seen what it has done to others. Getting to where I donít care for the meds but know they are helpful.

Received a notification today that the water at Paris island was contaminated. Donít think it should be a class action suite but the VA take care of us.

Remember one guy got a gnat or something in his mouth and spit on the sand, DI went nuts made him pick up the sand and suck all the spit out of it. Then we all had us all to help him. Think we all swallowed it. Gave us all a speech you donít spit on my island, you can piss on it, you can puke on it, you can bleed on it, you can even dig a hole and s***t on it. But you donít spit on my island. Then PTed us. Trust me he said it all better than I wrote it
