    Problem with imports-in general

A local farmer's market that I help with bought a generator from this company (before I came on board)

    http://www.extrememax.com/default.asp

They asked me to take a look at it as it wouldn't start. Cleaned carb new fuel, runs.......but Prime Bulb is cracked.

    Ring Ring....

"I need a remplacement prime bulb.."

" We no longer offer that model, parts not available"

    sheite!!

gotta see if I can find generic one that will work. No luck at box stores.

    Ed,
Find out what brand of carb is used, if the bulb is on the carb. If the bulb is a remote, look at small chainsaws (1 of mine is remote). Good luck

The EPA is the only reason primer bulbs exist. There were a few idiots among us that didn't know how to properly use a manual choke, so EPA decided we're all idiots!! Now we have idiots that don't know how to use a primer bulb!! While I'm on the primer bulbs, on it's 3rd winter last year I decided to find out why snowblower engine was such a hard starter since new even w/ electric start. The primer bulb for it is remote and when I removed the tin it is attached to the little rubber hose to the carb was in pieces and had to have been that way the day I bought it new.

Everytime that they make something more idiot-proof, they build a better idiot to compensate!

OP take the bulb to a good size lawn mower/ lawn equipment shop and they can probably match it up. They did for me.

Ed take the carb off, and scribble down any numbers you can find, and google search the numbers. chances are good there are still people selling that carb, even if it goes on a different engine.

I had to mow my lawn once with a friends old mower and the primer bulb was compromised enough so it wouldn't start. I fixed it with a condom and a few loops of wire. Of course it didn't work to prime the carb but it was enough to fix the air leak and it ran fine. So, in a pinch...

just plug the primer tube with a screw and a shot of carb cleaner in the air filter will get you going..
