Had to reset twice today. I'm getting a serious case of the WTF's.
Well, you guys might think it's a minor annoyance, but it doesn't take a whole lot to kill a forum. I've seen it happen over a format change, and that was on the biggest music gear forum ever. Place was huge, now it's a ghost town.
Steve, message me on the Welding Hats Emporium when this all gets fixed.
Had to reset twice today. I'm getting a serious case of the WTF's.
"You can't out puke a buzzard"
Today the pass word up date said you could not use any pass word used in the previous 365 days WTF this isn't national security!!!!!!
I'm not a big contributor here but this password "reset" every 5 days is really annoying.
Annoying enough to avoid the forum. No other forum that I frequent has anything close to this problem, and it is a problem.
I notice less online activity and far fewer posts on here.

This is exactly right! Being forced to change passwords every 5 days is simply ridiculous. There simply is no valid reason to require that level of pain to participate in a forum. Heck, my on-line bank has never required a password change...and that is far more important from a security standpoint than a forum.
This is the only forum that I go to that requires this. Something that will drive folks away, me included.

You'd think this could be fixed with a simple drop-down selection or checkbox tick somewhere in the admin settings. Seriously, how many weeks does it take to fix this? The forum was working just fine for years before they mandated the PW change. Ok, I understand why that was done, but why not just change the settings back to the way it was before?

I did not know about the resent. No notification. I tried logging in, emailed the webmaster twice and called two people at Welding Design. Not one person responded. How do you like those apples?

I've been buried with work lately. Hopefully the fix is a good one.

I've tried emailing and the Fb. To have my password reset. Been waiting for weeks. Got sick of it and opened new account. Formerly sbchp355. Why is it so difficult to get ahold of someone?

Was in the same boat KD.
Tried all the avenues on the main log in page, and those listed here, for over a week.
Finally got fed up and went to register as a new user. Filled out the form, and low and behold the email address is already in use. Imagine that!
There was a link on THAT page that had a "forgot username or password" link. I clicked that link, and FINALLY got a response from the forum (obviously automated) via Email, with a link back to the forum to reset password.
Hope this helps someone with the same issues.

We realize that this is a inconvenient problem and even I have to reset my password every 60 days.... if anyone else has to log in as a new member just to access the site send me or 7A749 a pm and we can get you back in as your old self with a temp password.
After logging in you can go reset your password to what ever you want.
That way there you also get all your pics and etc. back.
Yes it sucks but there ain't much I can do about forum settings.

The inconvenience seems to be more of an issue with lost/ forgotten email/password access. At least it was for me. The links on the main page don't or didn't work to reset them. Can you make the main page log in reset work the same as the link I mentioned previously?
