Other than the guy welding they don't look much different than these to me. Not that I would weld it like that either, I am just saying.

No comparison to the OP's.....yours is far better.

To the original OP......that is a critical application for those parts. Those parts SHOULD NOT be used, they are scrap.

Not trying to create a dogpile here, but those welds are way to cold, they should be a nice flat well washed in to the edge type of bead. Humped up in the center is not good. And yes... those parts are junk. Go repo them now and refund the buyer before somebody is killed.

I don't understand why beginners jump straight to trying to mig like tig, but can't be bothered to prep / grind the weld or make sure it fuses well.

Several years ago I did some fillet weld break tests. Lincoln’s L-56 Mig wire took 29-blows from a 4-poind hammer to break. I beat the top plate down on to the bottom plate. Then had to beat the top plate back the other direction to break the top plate off.
7018 right out of the oven took 23-blows to break. Same thing, I beat the top plate down on to the bottom plate. Then had to beat it back the other direction to break it off.
