What is a reasonable amount to charge

Just wanted to know about how much are you guys charging for aluminum, stainless steel, and pipeline work. My father is a Pipeline welder he charges 70$ an hour, but I've heard of other welders making 50$ an hour he owns his own material and his own rig. I've also heard of guys charging more than that. Which brings me to my next question how much would y'all say is a reasonable amount to charge for stainless or aluminum welding I was think 80-85 because it is a more expensive welding procedure to do. Also would it be a smart idea to just put the going rates on the business cards that way customers know from the start at around what the price their looking at? any comments or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

like any business..what is your cost to operate per hour, then add on the profit you need to stay afloat....never put pricing on your business card!!!!!!!!!!!! ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...........their is alot more to just a price...you have to sell your services and why they should pick you..then you give them the price..and again thats any business...if someone is $1.00 less than you..you wont even get the call to explain why your price is higher, you will just lose the job...

you want to put the going rate for ironwork on your business card? one of these cards is bound to turn up a few years from now and the cardholder will want the by now bargain rate on the card.
