This site has some great mods, and they do a fantastic job. I just liked and respected Doug’s style. Man I feel like I lost a close friend!

I still can't believe it. We talked last week about him coming be me for our "Weldorama''. We were talkin on who had more of a stash. I think he won for sure. He and I both were thrilled on getting together and doing some Blacksmith stuff and havin some fun. HE was the main reason for getting together so we could share him with other members. It still hasn't sunk in ; it will not be the same without him. RIP buddy .

im not surprised by the amount of hurt i feel for his loved ones. just by reading his posts, i know he was a good man, i always considered his word to be THE word in any thread i saw him in.

sad news indeed. my condolences go out to anybody reading this, as i know you feel the same way, and likely from a more personal level.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to his entire family. What an incredible loss each and every one of them will have to endure.

Admittedly shocked and in disbelief.... I have a hole in my heart, a lump in my throat, and tears in my eyes.... and I'm just a friend not even family. He was one of my only "buddies" here... WeldingWeb will never be the same to me without him.

Everyone else has sad everything else I was thinking. He always had a great way of responding to questions to be helpful without talking down to people. This site has lost a lot of wonderful people not just welders but people. They will all be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I learned from his writings, 49 is very young. He never knew me, never pmed or talked with him....... However I always thought about the things he wrote.

His writings were always logical, educational, driven by common sense, easy to follow.

God bless this man and prayers for the beloved ones left behind.

Rest in piece DSW your work is done.

    Amen

Tragic. One of the obvious Good Guys. You could always count on him to help out the newbs and to get right to the key point of what was right/wrong with the weld you posted on the endless stream of "help me with my welding" threads. He wouldn't know me at all, but I had great respect for his opinions and posts. A HUGE loss. Too many great WW people gone in the past year. It ain't right.
