Well...
I have had some time to digest all this.
And it gives me heartburn.
I never met him face to face but it feels like I / WE lost a big part of this family and it will hang with all of us for a very long time.
People like him are very hard to come by and are getting more and more scarce every hour.
We wish him peace and his family the power and grace to get on with life no matter how hard it may be in this chapter in life.
We all are only here for a short time on this planet and we all should make the best of it every day.
This is just another example of how unfair things are at times and nobody is immune to any of it.
Rest in peace my friend.

Very sad to hear this. Condolences to the family.
Sad. My prayers and condolences go out to his family. So young. Kind of scary from my stand point, since I just turned 50 nine months ago. I have always enjoyed reading his posts.

Condolences to Doug's family.
I really enjoyed reading his input, and I admired his skill and expertise. It's funny how "familiar" members become on this forum. I felt like he was someone that I would have enjoyed working with, and I know that he could have taught me a TON of welding tips.
God Rest his soul, and best regards to his family. He will be missed.

Doug, Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us during your time on Earth. We know you are teamed up with the blacksmith/fabrication crew in Heaven, instructing and forging with the best of the best.
You will always be remembered for your leadership, mentorship, and grounded responses on this Forum. From afar, you tirelessly trained many fabricators/weldors and offered sage technical advice and commentary.
Fair winds and following seas brother. Rest in Peace. My sincerest condolences to Doug's family, friends, and acquaintances.

Aw, man, that SUCKS. He seemed like a heck of a good guy and always took the time to write well-thought-out replies to help people, including me several times. He was a real asset to this forum, IMHO.
So sorry to hear of this. My thoughts and condolences go out to Doug's family.
I've taken some time away from the board, but ouch.
On the 16th, I shared his posts describing the Bryn Athyn Cathedral ironwork, I had little idea.

I don't know if I ever was worried about death or not. Maybe more so thinking about what dbag might get ahold of my stuff.
Maybe there is no heaven but dang if there is you know they got a hell of a shop. I am looking forward to putting in 7 24's with a lot of this forums members up there.
With my luck St Pete would hand me a reflective vest and put me on gate guard.
