    Schindleria Praematurus

    The Fish. 4" x 8" x 1/4" mild steel. Element CNC'd with a Whitney 6g Fiber Laser set at 10kW. SetOff embossed via TIG braze with 1/16" filler. 1-1/2in dia x 5/8in thick PTFE StandOffs affixed to assembly with #10-3/4" BlackOxide fasters. Hot plate assembly for a Christmas gift.

    Way cool Mano. I really like the way the bronze contrasts with the steel.

    I like the contrast and look of the bronze as well.

    If you do any more in the future, have you thought about doing some of the welds from the back so there are no beads visible from front?

    Thx bro. We actually prefer to highlight more braze line on the FRONT with copper silicon filler. In fact, the next item we will ensure that all of the set "tacks" are subsumed by the braze for a cleaner look.

    I just saw you were going to add Insta Black. I think that and the filler will be a nice contrast to the base.

    What else are you going to apply if anything to protect it from rusting?

    How durable/resistant to scratching is the Insta Black to any items being placed on it?

    @ psacustomcreations - the key is Sealing. We are targeting E-Tec 522, as the assembly will be for indoor use.
