    Hey Duane.

Very original and very cool. I'm sure they were all thrilled with their gifts, and all the more special since you made them.

    duaneb,

Nice look'n stuff. Have you been in a Home Depot lately? Last time I was in one I noticed a whole display of threaded pipe fittings being sold for the sole purpose of making light fixtures out of them. It really pissed off a friend of mine who's been into building these kind of thing for quite a few years.

I really like that kind of "steam punk" look that stuff gives you.

    duaneb,

Check this site out. These kind of bulbs go well with the kinds of stuff you've been building.

    Thanks.

Seen 'em. Most of the 1/2" fittings came from their selections. Many of them are cheaper than the regular stuff.

Might be hard to make out but all the lights in these are the Edison style from Home Depot online. The 3-pack isn't sold in our store and are cheaper per piece than the individuals in the store.

Thanks for all the compliments and it was fun making everything. Started with ideas and the designs just evolved/changed as I went.

More ideas to build and another project going on at the moment but can't show it yet.

    duaneb,

Remember how I tried to hook you up with "Double Y" a couple years a go when you mentioned you might have to go to Billings for work?

Well, these are some light fixtures his Uncle made.

Dang, you had to have put a lot of work into those.

If I had made it through the 1st one I would have been handing out gift cards after that.

The push on/ push off switches for the desk lamps came from some Chemtron MIG guns I've had kicking around.

The 150# 2" weld neck flange and pipe "body" pieces have been sitting in my storage building for probably 5-6 years just waiting for the right project to come along.

Those look great Duane. I just finished a light fixture for one of my nieces but it is more of a normal hanging type for over a dining table. I'm stunned by how much some of these fixtures can be. I think those would be big bucks.

All those nice looking gifts...and you cleaned out some of your storage space. Very nice Duane. Handmade gifts are always the nicest, you get to see the maker everytime you see the gift.

Thanks Bob. I've had a few folks throw some dollar figures out and yes, it's surprising.

    Thanks.

"Lamp-Table" legs are made from 3/4" square tubing from golf cart windshield frames and the shelf frames from . . .

    . . . evil bed frame angle.

Lamp shade is the frame from a small plastic desk waste basket that I pulled from the trash years ago knowing I'd eventually find a good use for it. 1/4" thick brass washers securing it were from a diaphragm operated pressure control valve rebuild job a few years ago. I save waaaaaay too much.

Tile, grout and the rest from Home Depot.
