    Re: A little bucket repair

You ever have trouble welding to the old buckets that have been in the dirt for years?

    Re: A little bucket repair

The only time I have a problem is when they repaired or made the bucket before with junk steel and it rusts through.

    Re: A little bucket repair

I get weld on a good bit of grouser bar to the bottom of our buckets for wear bar. .

Some of the time replacement of that when welding to the bucket can be a little tricky with arc blow and some porosity every now and then even after grinding all old surfaces clean. I wondered if you had a bigger problem with that.

    Re: A little bucket repair

Depends on where we get to work. Delta land, no. Landfill, definitely corrosive! Kidding aside I really think it has something to do with friction from ground contact and impurities being imbedded maybe in some soils, like some of the drill stem maybe. I do not know. It is never anything too bad to work through but definitely noticeable.

Cross another one off your "bucket" list.

I see the project started out as an overhead.
