Roll a round cart

I posted this on the Blacksmith sticky but decide to post here too because it has multiple uses. The base from a recycled office chair and balance of material is leftovers. Bottom shelf is full swivel with hold for hammers or whatever. The top has 5/16'' round formed for holding anything that fits , clamps , hammers, squares, etc. I wanted something to set my tools on besides welding table. Tables have a bad habit of collecting anything . I can set grinders on it or hang them on the sides. I never have enough flat surfaces.
I'm gonna add a harbor freight 18'' magnetic strip to it too. I have a coupon for a FREE one that I'll pick up today. They really work well and the price is right.

Nice job! I like the design. I'm planning a grinder cart to park close at hand while I'm welding, so I may borrow some of your ideas. That would hold grinders nicely and your little tubing pieces on the corners would work great aa a place to stick the mig gun between welds. Even bettter , a non-ground place to hang the electrode clamp while stick welding.

I love the free hf magnetic strips, I've gotten several of them. I cut one into 3" lengths and welded them to some gates I made to keep the dogs out of the bedrooms while we are not home. They like to get on the beds and get hair on them which makes my wife very angry! Anyway, the magnets made great closers for them. You can also mount them in pairs, one right above the other for heavier stuff, I have some big punches and chisels that one will hold, but not well, they tend to fall off when you bump them. A pair holds them great.

I have a bunch of them. Each strip has eight 2'' long separate magnets. I remove them and use them for lots of stuff. They work great for holding small parts and pieces of metal for artwork before tacking. I got a strip by the drill press and one by my Dremel tool. They are really handy especially when FREE !!!!

I'm very hesitant to EVER use the "L" word, BD1, but I LOVE it.

Yeah, I realized that they were already in short pieces after I cut the one up. I will take advantage of that next time, because the don't cut very cleanly. And two inches would be plenty to hold those little gates closed.

No pearl or metal flake paint, no carpet or beaded fringe. Just a little zap(tm) of color. And you can get rattle can in colors other than flat black, I'm just sayin'...

Here you go Tony, a VISUAL AID . There have been FREE ones NO purchase necessary but those expired a month or two ago. The strip has 8 magnets 2'' long . I removed them and use to hold piece before welding. You can use them on those horseshoe snowmen to adjust where the arms ago. They really come in handy.

Figures I usually always miss out on the good deals. Think I'll make an effort to purchase something really cheap to get the free magnetic strip. I use to buy the wet paint signs for .08¢ but they caught on to that and quit selling single wet paint signs

I like carts like that. I tossed a POS together about six months ago and haven't bothered to wrap, finish or make the metal drawers. My Makita dry slice is on it and the drawers are full of layout tools. Someday. I guess when the rain sets in hard.I'm not one to NOT finish something but money comes first. Now wifey comes first.....for a bit. Gotta get her fixed up. Then I (We)ROLL again.
She can make morons at supply houses cringe. Shiite gets happenin' quick !

Thanks again Bob. I did bring my lady and ended up paying for one roll of electrical tape and getting the '25 tape measure and the 18" magnetic tool strip for free. Her son in his Junior year HS had a guest speaker from Tulsa Welding School today in his Ag Mechanics class. The speaker gave him a nice computer monitor rag which he gave to me I think I will use it for either the welding helmet or the screen on the Rebel.
