Hey guys, wondering if I could get any info about this Red-D-Arc 300 diesel machine that you guys might know. Are they decent machines? I've got a local guy looking to sell this one and I'm wondering if its worth the time to go have a look and possibly pick it up. Any chance any of you have an idea on what year it could be based off the pictures? Thanks in advance.

From what I understand, That machine is really a Lincoln 300D , just doesn't have the low idle feature. Made for rental fleets.

Doesn't have a fuel gage or cv neither. It's a dumbed down classic 300 Lincoln with no options.

I talked to one of the regional Red-D-Arc guys a few years ago thinking about buying one of their machines direct from them. The way I remembering all this, he claimed they pulled all their machine through their own shops and load banked them, fixed anything that was a problem, and REPLACED hour meters. Something to consider. It may have more hours than what is showing. If it runs good, should be a good machine. I am not sure if that was totally what they did by the book and I never ended up buying one from them. We were speaking in generalities about machines because I never found one in the fleet I specially was interested in. I would buy one from them if I were looking again.

Thanks for the info so far guys I appreciate it. Blocker the one thing that definitely stood out to me was the hour meter, it looks pretty fresh for how old the machine looks so that makes sense.

In the grand scheme of things how big of a deal is it that it doesn't come with the low idle feature? I'm assuming they were made to run fine with out it? As for not having CV is that something that I would be able to add to it later if need be? The guy selling it is asking 2 grand for the welder, the trailer its sitting on and about 100' of cable, do you guys think its worth that much?

Low idle saves a bit of fuel and noise. The 300 red d arcs I've used had Kabota diesels in them. They do stick weld very nice.
