    Best Welder for $1000 ???

I 'need' a new wire welder. mine is old and small. If you haven't figured it out from my years of pics and vids, I'm a hobby / farm Welder.
I use flux core on 99% of my projects. I want a good MIG setup..... would really like to do TIG, but not sure about price. I have a nice old Lincoln ac/dc stick welder that still looks new (because I mainly use it as a cutting torch - HA!), so I'm not focused to much on stick.
Anyway...... if you had $1000 to spend, what welder would you buy?

Hobart, 190 or Linc 180 from the box store.

Well, I can answer without question, because I recently did buy a MIG welder for that price. I chose the ESAB Rebel EM 215ic.

Seemed like it had a good feature set for the money. So far I really like it.

    Haha, that's impressive.

Keep in mind, my recommendation isn't coming from a place of that kind of experience. I can't say the ESAB is the best, simply answering the question of what would I choose. Because that's what I chose.

The reason I mentioned the ones I did was cost. The mvp is ok, if it's not needed it's extra expence. That and they work well.

Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 !!!!!! I think I paid $300 for it 1 million years ago. I gotta say though, it has to be one tough donkey of a machine for what I've put it through.

My vote would be the Lincoln 180, doesnt matter if pro mig, weld pak, 180C, 180HD, etc, all pretty much the same machine, just branded for different vendors.

Yup- that was my first machine too. You'll certainly enjoy moving up to a 240v machine.

If you don't need the 120v/240v function the HH190 is a good deal.

The Lincolns sold at Lowes and Home Depot are also another good option sub 1k.

Do you already have a jug of shielding gas? If not you'll need to figure in that cost as well.

The 180C is the only one that is different as it has continuous voltage selection and is only sold through welding supply stores.

the box store machines are the same as you mentioned and they are tapped voltage machines.
