Depends on your location IF LEGAL. The Minion is three feet table and and has a 12'' in ring. That will hold a pretty big pot or cover a big bag of pot.

    BD1,

Those are nice looking things. I can see them having some good marketability.

Might should have called them potted plant holders though.

    Re: Cattails, pot plant holders

Just wanted to send a Big thank you to Bob (BD1) for sending me the material to build this Cat Plant holder. I built it for my Mother who is suffering from pancreatic and liver cancer. Just goes to show that there are still good, kindhearted people in the world. Thanks Again Bob!

Dave look up Rick Simpson about canabis oil to treat and cure cancers. Might be worth a shot for your mother.

this is truly awesome and inspiring! I'm a beginner and would love to make my own planters. Where would I go about purchasing the wire for that? Or do I call it rod? I'd appreciate any help.

I get most of my small bar stock in 20’ pieces at a local Ornamental Iron supply here in town. No minimum order required and they have most of the smaller solid and tube stock I use and they specialize in materials suited for building gates and fencing.

    Re: Cattails, pot plant holders

The solid rod is basic 1/4'' hot rolled mild steel. Most is pretty easy to form although I have had some that were hard and would split on a tight cold bend. All forming is done cold but sometimes heat will help for more precise control. I have a variety of jigs that I use for bending on . Various diameters of schedule 40 pipe, angle iron , and channel.
Posting your location will help . Might be a member near and tell you where they buy their material. The 1/4'' rod from my supplier is $0.13 a foot or $2.60 for 20'. Pretty cheap I figure so not expensive if you screw up. Sometimes it's helpful to use tie wire , string, or electrical wire as a template. Make or layout the bends with wire, string, or even a shoelace to get a clearer picture. I have the kids I teach do that to get a better perspective of what it will look like.
Let me know if you need any other info.
