    Sa250 murphy switch

Well got to the job site today and when tried to start my sa250 with perkins diesel I noticed smoke from under the hood.
I then took the hood off and the white wire from the start button to the amp gauge got burned off.
I disconnected the wire but now it won't start murphy switch doesn't click or do anything so my question is can I just get rid of the Murphy switch completely without any other issues?

The short answer that you want to heard is: Yes. But it is there for a reason- it protects your engine. Case in point; I was running my dozer when I blew a head gasket- I knew it looking out over the hood seeing coolant blow out through the radiator... now think about you under a hood upwind of your Perkins. You aren't going see or smell anything and at some point that Perkins will stop perking if it suffers the same fate. Spend a couple of hundred to have a mechanic diagnosis the cause of the burnt wire and weld with the confidence that you will be less likely to toast the engine,
