I run a 2097 for general welding. Talk to the guys at the auto paint store for what you need for the paint you're working with

I used to use the 2097 (P100 with nuisance odor protection) but I realized I would rather know when things are burning that shouldn't be, so I use the 2091 without the charcoal.

But then how do you know if you're getting poisoned? If I can smell something burning I know I'm being poisoned. 2297 all the way

I use a 3M 7528 reusable respirator, or if I'm stuck in a place with bad ventilation I'll use a 3M air blower

Not a respirator but a half face air supplied mask... don't know the manufacturer anymore. It is a low pressure high volume rig that is perfect under a hood- blasting or welding- because it provides fresh air to keep the lenses from fogging and positive pressure keeps the dust from collecting on the inside of the lens. Because it doesn't have filter elements on the mask it fits under the smallest hoods. Same setup for painting with 2 part coatings that have such nasty components that I can't pronounce them.
