    Redface timing issue

    Recently I pulled apart my 68 200 to replace the rear main oil seal, I got the seal on without a problem. After putting things back together I can't get the timing to come close to what it should be. I have rolled the mag back and forth and also spun the governor 180 in case it was off. Had the flywheel on the DC mark. Had a motor guy over because I have been messing with it for 3 weeks. Still can't figure it out. I am over my head. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

    Did you use the correct timing mark on the crankshaft gear? There are 2 and several owners have assembled theirs using the wrong mark resulting in a no start condition.

    Front view. Correct crank gear timing mark is in the yellow circle. Incorrect one is shown by the red arrow.
