    Titanium fumes?

Had to fusion weld a very thin piece of Ti today... no filler ( ain't got none anyway..)

After a couple burn throughs I settled on 30 amps... manual pulsed it .. got the job done but was getting a funky smell...

any toxic Ti fumes? too late now... but just curious.

perforated motorcycle baffle.... about 100 gentle tack welds..

Talk to your doctor if you are experiencing high strength to weight ratio, corrosion resistance, high ductility, low thermal/electrical conductivity, and loss of magnetism. This may be a sign that you have Titatania-itis.

If I remember my metals right, titanium is not noted to be especially noxious to weld. You probably got a whiff of one of the alloying elements. I’ve done some experiments on an old TI tennis racket, and didn’t notice anything particularly smelly about trying to weld it. (Weld unsuccessful not enough purge lol)

a quick beforehand google search could have prevented those symptoms you're now experiencing.

It was a perforated motorcycle baffle that was cut in half

I just tacked it back together...

It was for test purposes only

    Not that important.

    Something similar to this

If you experience high strength-to-weight ratios that exceed 4 hours, please see your doctor...

Or.... if your high S/W ratios exceed 4 days you might want to seek out a good publicist...
