    Miller Bluestar 2E

Hey guys, I have a Miller Bluestar 2E AC/DC machine that I would like to get rid of before I load it out for scrap. The machine welds and generates power as it should before the engine went down on it. I was going to do a motor swap on it but I don't have the time or interest. I have made an adapter plate to go from the bell housing to a HF predator engine. You will need to modify a coupling from the armature to the shaft. I figure it's worth $100 if someone wants a project to play with. I am in Rosepine Louisiana.

Thinking if I'm interested or not. You're 1-1/2hrs away.

Any chance you could post a couple photos of the unit?

What happened to the original Tecumseh engine? Still have it?

I still have the Tecumseh, it was running but would idle down and shut off after a few minutes of running. I put a carb kit and a fuel pump on it and helped but did't fix the problem. The armature drive coupler on the engine side broke when I was trying to remove it. I will get a few pics for you. I will try to post some pics.

Yeah, those adapter plates take a little finesse to remove and prevent breakage. I've got one kicking around here somewhere.

    Miller Bluestar 2E

I always loved how my old blue star 2E welded. In fact, I prefer the 7018 arc of the 2E over the 7018 arc of my newer 250 bobcat. Wish I never had sold the 2E. Mine was dc only. This one is ac/dc.

If it wasn't a 5+ hour drive I'd be interested. If you're going to be any closer to Fort Worth before it sells let me know

I know I'm new and it's a few days old but usually what happens is the valves wear into the block over time. When the valve heats up it expands and you loose compression. A quick fix is to grind down the end of the valves to get some clearance.

I have too many projects around the shop and replaced it with a Lincoln 305g. Hate to see it go to scrap but it has more than $100 bucks worth of copper in it.

I'm pretty sure you'd find out there isn't that much copper value in that unit. Most of the weight is steel and the copper that's in it it's not "clean" copper due to the varnish insulation that reduces its value at the scrap yard.

Unfortunately I too have too many things going on at the moment so I don't think I'll be able to take it off your hands.

Valves can be lapped and re seated. Valve guides can usually be replaced too.

Any chance that you would sell some parts off of this machine. I have one and would love to buy the carb and face plate and possibly fuel tank

If you start parting it out, I could use the air cleaner assembly!

    Thanks.
