VFD Programming help 3 phase drill press conversion

Have a 220 3 phase motor trying to get working. The wiring is easy. But when I turn it on the motor sounds like its spinning up, but is not moving. Sorta a noisy type of sound, more vibration type of sound. VFD is a cheap A2 series, the typical ones you see on ebay. Went though the programs didn't change much. should I change all hthe 400hz to 60? sems the videos I have watched leave these alone

That 400hz. may not be the max. speed.
400 hz. is a common switching for vfd’s.
Is vfd set to produce 3 phase? Sounds like motor may be
“single phasing “.

Jpump5 May be correct, I am not an EE. My experience has only been running both low and medium voltage motors on VFDs at work. In my personal shop I have numerous Vfd drives, all of which I have set up for 60 hertz max. The only motors I have been around that run on 400hertz are the cheap Chinese spindle motors. I suppose there are other applications that run on 400hertz, I am just not familiar with them.

My advise to the OP is try setting to 60 hertz and see what happens, my guess is it works , but again jump5 sounds too be much more informed.....

Was the drive new or used? If used it's time to read the programming manual & check the parameters that have been set by the prior user.

Did you enter the motor name plate data, if so, it could be a switching freq. issue and you could quieten it down with a adjustment in the motor control parameters. Just a thought. You may call the Mfg and get customer service to help. Good luck.
