    Ranger 330MPX

Noticed that Lincoln has a new Ranger out. Its lighter and has a few more amps than the 305G, and is supposed to be quieter to. It also features a digital user interface for changing the settings. What do you guys/gals think?

It looks like a nice machine. More refinement is always good. Smaller, lighter, more powerful and quieter.
    Now, it just needs EFI.

I'd be afraid to buy one for a couple of years until all of the bugs get worked out. That's probably the future direction of all engine drives however.

They are squeezing a few more amps out it, so we'll see how everything turns out. It is a pretty neat looking machine.

it looks neat but the one dial to do it all looks annoying and the screen is too trendy for me. next they will make you sign into your welder with facebook

I purchased one today. 330 MPX, All-terrain cart, ballistic nylon cover for $5800, less $1000 Lincoln rebate, so all-in for $4800.

Thats a lot of machine for the money. I see your other post that the manual says it has less than 5% THD too. Nice machine , now time will tell if it is dependable. I know we can't get away from it anymore but I am not completly sold on electronics. but I guess it is something we need to accept. MY 2012 TB302 has a bunch of circuit boards in it too . I gotta say I do like the EFI on it though.

It is a nice looking machine. Brought one by for a demonstration a couple of weeks ago. Pretty quiet also. I am not to keen on all of the electronics, just seems like more to go wrong. Getting more power out of a lighter means that the durability may not be there as something has to have been lightened up along the way. Didn't buy one time will tell how they hold up.

    AirGas.

They held their annual welding expo on Friday and Saturday this week, with Lincoln, Miller, ESAB manufactures there.

330 MPX was being trialed and had a special expo deal on "buy today" with special price and get free all-terrain cart for $5800. I was asked if I wanted the display model and get the ballistic cover for free.

I actually was in the market for a 10kW generator and was looking at a MultiQuip 9.7kW for about the same price, but when I saw the 330 MPX with freight, battery all included (and the extras), and it was a WELDER too, then decided it was for me.

The 330 MPX at the expo was powering a Magnum PRO 250LX spool gun - my first time welding with alum, and it was sweet. My purchase did NOT include the spool gun - that is another $1,600+ - for another day.

I did check out the power washing of the digital display: Time will tell how robust it is on a construction site:

Nice feature is that it has passcodes so you can lockout users - nothing worse than some subcontractor on a project site starting up your generator without your permission.

My 330 mpx is bogging down after 130 amps.

I changed the air filter fuel filter spark plugs and put in a new carb. Still having same issues

If you are going to make a living with one of those they are not the machine to own. Total scrap as far as I am concerned.
