Looking for a 200 + amp stick welder. Ended up with this.

Used craigslist deal. Guy asked 1800. I thought it worth that. So I offered 1600 and he keep consumables. I arrived he gave me everything including extra coolant. And several packs of rods aluminum and steel. And a single 308 stainless rod.

I have played with it a bit. Lot of features and a bit overwhelming.

Cart is cool idea It is a forklift battery tray on end with wheels

Nice score! HTPs never go down in value, otherwise i'd own every used one I ever came across. I like to make offers in person, as I find seeing the cash in person often gives them the gold fever and they'll take much less than they would if they weren't money drunk lol, plus you are already there with a trailer or whatever, and they think of the flakes they dealt with before and will have to again if they turn down your offer. I know this tactic bc I've fallen victim to it a few times!

OP you got an exceptional value. Easily worth more than double what you paid even before the tungsten grinder, IMHO. I have the same setup, and love it. Read the manual itís quite helpful.

Oh, and it kicks a%$ as a stick welder! No adjustability on hot-start or arc force, but it still runs 6010s with the machine on 220V+. I can't tell if yours is a DV or not, so I'm assuming it's not.

Nice score! Holy back caps though! I wonder who talked him into buying all those?

I agree. Been a victim. 1 in hand is worth 5 in the bush even if the one is not exact.

My shop is going Italian. 2 htp's,an esab made in Italy and a snap-on tig250. The Snap on was nice but short-lived(production) and no current tech support. I am pretty sure the Snap-on inverter tig is the same as this invertig221.

Guy just said he went overboard. Purchased about year ago. Everything came from HTP. Now,his girl friend is pregnant and A/C out. I suspect she still wasn't happy about the purchase.

Yeah, I haven't been through that many back caps in 23 years of TIG welding... Most of it 8-10 hours a day...

I think I am on my 4th back cap. A buddy gave me a mid length one I have never used and I have a super short which gets used now and again for tight spots. I think I have one full length for back up.

I did bust the very tip off my last one within a week of getting it. A dab of JB took care of it.

I like that forklift battery box. I'll be on lookout for one now.
