Very cool job... I suppose the main bonus for you is that whenever someone asks the gunshop "who built that for you?" they'll point them straight to your door... indirect advertising
    Thanks!
Yeah, budget wasn't there to go with any armor - maybe later...and power rotation too

Like a lot of the things I make or fix, just getting started as soon as possible is the biggest time saver.

I actually tore it the day before I started the build...although I have no idea how. Just woke up that way.
She said it wouldn't take much with my poor knee condition.

    Thanks! He seemed pretty pleased
I have not ordered a new cam lock yet. Still not caught up....as usual

Thanks! It turned out pretty good.
Every part was a one-time, one-off, has to work to stay on schedule, design as you build, type thing.

I'll try and convince him that I should be able to shoot it for free for a few rounds

He also has a Browning 1919 that uses the same 6 degree taper mount
1919's are fun. I sold this one just a few months back.

do you have nothing nice or helpful to say to anyone? I mean, it's ok if you have positive criticism, but there was nothing constructive in that post whatsoever... so why on earth do you bother to reply at all? Is it just to practice your BB fonts, colours and itallics?

Let's see your humvee turret... oh yeah, forgot, you haven't made one

Yes, Tucker was quite an innovator in my opinion.

No, my redneck caricature of a real turret, made solely to advertise his business, does not live up to his standards.

The real challenge here was to make a functional and aesthetically similar turret, with a larger diameter than the real one (better for "play time"), with no plans to guide me, in a short time frame.

Every one-off part had to fit the first time to make deadline. Using a mix of welding and machining with no do-overs.

Most fabricators can appreciate what kind of effort that takes.

dave; you really knocked it out of the ballpark with your on the fly engineering. i was thinking the flying brass would eventually find its way into the vehicle or land on personnel. hot brass down the collar would spoil the festivities for someone.

Thanks It was an interesting build. Learned a bunch on it.

Hot brass flying should cost extra for participants - $1 per burn
