Darth Vader Log Burner

Got a request for a Darth Vader log burner. I used my old well tank. 21" diameter and 32" tall. Overall height with legs 42".
This has removalable inside grate and the flatten expanded metal in door and by eyes is removable also. Wasn't sure which would look neater when burning. The slots or expanded metal.
The bottom is setup with cleanout and as a adjustable air intake too. The top flue is 6" pipe and is removable when not in use. Just add a 6" cap. Flue pipe has a damper in it.
I need to buy more high temperature paint. A slip roller would have definitely saved time. It's heavy and stout. You can grab it anywhere to move.

Thanks. This was my first one so it takes longer to get right. Most pictures I saw were of small tanks. It'll hold quite a bit. I used horseshoes around the eye openings so you can slid logs through them too.

Was it a chore to get the bladder out of the tank. I have one out in the yard that I've been wondering what I should maybe use it for.

This was not a quick project. The layout was time consuming, door location and size , the flare distance from side of tank, and positioning of the helmet . I used magnets to hold mockup pieces to see what it looked like. I made a ring for the helmet to hold a set distance from side of tank. Once I got the side metal tacked to tank I added some flat 1/8'' x 2'' to conceal the welds. I tried to conceal most of the welds and added sheetmetal strips using pop rivets. This wasn't a rush job so I took time to think of which would look best.

The bladder was thicker then I thought . A box cutter and new blades worked well. I had to cut it in small chunks to remove through the bottom opening.
There are lots of designs for these type of log burners. I saw a quick easy one where the guy just cut holes in it for eyes, open front without door, and just set it on ground as is. No legs were added.
Check Etsy and Pinterest too. There's a variety out there.
