The cst 280 is a proven machine. Very nice robust welder.
Be aware, it’s only a few 280 amp machine while being used on 3 phase power. In single phase power, it’s only a 200 amp machine. If your considering a
new one and only have single phase power, your better off buying a 210 max star.

That’s interesting....my Dynasty runs single phase 280A all day long. I thought they were basically the same machine with different features...guess I must’ve been mistaken.

We have the CST 280 since they came out . Many prefer to use that over the XMT 304. Used daily for pipe welding on 3 phase and single phase power.

 

I’ve ran the cst 280 on 3 phase power. Structural welding. Very nice arc.

You bet. If you're a serious 6010-11/7018 stick welder, it's a good buy. Industrial job site machine, built like a tank. We ran them nonstop 12 hours a day in welding school. I'd love to have one.
