Miller Bobcat 225g HELP
Picked up a bobcat to repair now I’m stumped.
Miller Bobcat 225g ser#kh312128
Got this for a good price.
Got it running had low voltage low weld output
Got crazy replacing parts.
New rheostat, original was broke.
New sr2
New D4, old tested bad
New fuse holder, old look bad.
New brushes and holders, old ones were stuck.
Cleaned slip rings
Was getting 90 volts at outlets
Tested slip rings
- continuity between slip rings, none between rings and shaft
-3.7 ohms between slip rings
Weld lugs in ac setting 1.7 volts
Outlet 2.6 volts ac
Was getting 9.5 Vdc at brushes, change battery now getting 35.8 mv
Checked and cleaned plg4
Continuity between d4 and engine coil?
Can sr2 be wired wrong? Someone else was in machine before me.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks.

Re: Miller Bobcat 225g HELP
I have almost the same issue with my trailblazer 250g. I have ruled out everything that I can think of except the field current regulator board. I sent it out yesterday to MRO to get repaired. I’ll let you know if that works. I didn’t see any visible damage to the board, but there aren’t that many components in the machine. MRO’s turnaround time is about a week. Cost is estimated around $200.

Thanks let me know. Had the rotor and stator tested and tested good. Just haven’t had time to get back on it. Let me know.

Re: Miller Bobcat 225g HELP
I just realized I never followed up here...I sent the board to MRO and they said they repaired it. When I got it back, I compared it to pictures I took before hand and everything was the same. They said they replaced components, but didn't. I don't know if it was just a tech that lied, or if they thought it was repaired, but wasn't...I don't know. Either way I demanded a refund and got it. So, I'm still stuck, but haven't had time to mess with it. I'm going to pickup a Bobcat 225g that had a bad motor, so hopefully with the two I can make one work. Did you have any luck with yours?
