The main thing is to make sure the argon grove lines up and the o-rings seal.

im in the hazard fraught quite often. i'll carry a dial caliper with me the next time i go. yup, I'm one of the old crusty type that prefer a dial caliper to the new fangled digital crap.
I trust the analog way more than the digital and it don't need batteries.

I know pics can be deceiving but it looks like a Tweco copy. Only thing is the brass end of the liner looks thicker. Yeah, you'd be wise to take a caliper with ya.

i know the tail end on vulcan stuff is the same as a tweco gun #2 on a hobart hefty suitcase.

i think the fusion is different than the #2 because it uses those captured contact tips that have no threads on them. But
the tail end may be exactly the same.

There's your answer. All you're really concerned with is the power pin end.

only difference is my older twecos use 1/4" spade connectors for the trigger instead of the pigtail with connector, but the tail has the exact same dimensions and fits and seals perfectly.

Take your gun with you to HF and see if they'll let you plug it into the floor model?

    Re: Tweco Fusion MIG Gun

It should be plug and play on the Vulcan. That's the standard Tweco back end that many companies copy and I know someone who just did opposite of what you are wanting to do and the Vulcan gun fit his TA 211i. What you need to check is if the Vilcan trigger wire amphenol is 4 socket with 2 pins. I think the Fusion comes with a 9 socket with 2 pins. As long as you hook the 2 wires together the trigger will work. jus check the amphenols. The back end will fit.

I'm guessing thats not going to happen. The 220 at the HF has the door bolted down so you can't open it.
what i can do is take the tweco and calipers to HF and do the measurements

changing the trigger amphenol would be no big deal.

How would you compare the two against each other? Just curious to hear from a user that has used and owned both machines.

not being the most experienced welder ( just a hobbyist ) the miller auto set ( i thought ) might resolve the issue with the thermal arc units having to be dialed in almost perfect. Once you wonder from those almost perfect settings, it get out of control fast.
Jody at welding tips and tricks gave the same report on the fabricator series. the display is not very accurate on the fabricator series just complicating things. can you imagine how it would be for the not so experienced welders
if Jody has trouble with it ? On the flip side, the auto set feature on the miller SUCKS OUT LOUD. For the most part its 2 settings too hot. i did read somewhere that miller designed all the auto set features for a T-type fillet weld.
So i find that using the auto set feature is not a savior. i usually either just turn it back 2 thickness settings for the material I'm welding on or just turn it off and go manual.
Dont get me wrong, it welds fantastic when its set right. But it damn sure does not weld good enough to justify the cost just because its blue. I just bought the primeweld 225x this morning
and will be selling the miller 215 multiprocess that does not do AC and considering buying the vulcan just for mig use.

Thanks for your perspective on things. I guess I am lucky to have the trim dial on the Rebel in the advanced features used in Smig mode that allows me to adjust the heat a little up or down from with in the auto settings

I couldn't find anything earlier but low and behold this showed up out of the blue while I was looking for music vids. Go figure. Any way it's a decent vid that shows the Rebel's advanced tweaking abilities Enjoy.

you can adjust both slopes on the miller 215 - voltage and wire speed slopes. gotta admit i never seen anyone using 4T ( aka cruise control lmao ) on a mig. i guess it would be nice on super long welds on clean prepped material.

I also had a difficult time trying to dial in a 211i and sold it...lol And that Tweco gun and tips were mad annoying. The contact tip would fall off when I pulled the nozzle to clean it. Id have to make sure I held the tip vertical so it stayed on the wire. I replaced it with a Bernard unit. I cut the Tweco connector and spliced it onto the Bernard. You will probably have to splice the connector off supplied gun onto your tweco but should work fine.

yeah, I'm not a big fan of that tweak gun either because of the contact tip crap. they just built it like that so they could sell proprietary contact tips.
but, I'm sure its better than the gun that comes with the vulcan mig

Actually, I looked at the Vulcan gun and it's similar to what Lincoln uses and or used on their SP135 style units. Takes tweco front end and it has Tweco back as well. I'm also not a Tweco Fusion fan.
