Looks good, but I would have expected a lot more damage from an overpass. Must have barely touched it...

Hard to scan those old photos. BAck in the day, we didn't take a ton of pics before digital cameras. Cost too much to develop them.

It was V250 with a 3208 to change to V300 or V350 just and weight to box behind the engine.
    Each fork was 8" x 3 1/2”.
The side to forklift it sink into ground and was 14' 10" tall I could not take inside a 14 foot building and I did not want put ruts in concrete.

Had one like that hit an overpass close by me, Took out the first concrete "I" beam, blew all 8 tires on the trailer and tossed the driver onto the hood of the truck. Overpass was closed for 90 days for repairs which meant an extra 15 miles when we wanted to make the short trip into town. Turned out later that I knew the driver. He's not exactly smart.

Nice fix. Your driver must have done a good job of chaining it down at least...

Yeah, I worked 8 years as a pipefitter in the oilfields and at construction yards where we build offshore platforms, and although it was in the age of digital camera`s , it was before you had a camera (aka smartphone) in your pocket the entire time
So I only have a few photo`s from that time.....

The steering axle weight is 20,000 pounds. You add 5,000 pounds in box over the steering axle. Sitting on ground it is 14feet 8inches tall. I am know it pass all DOT spec for running down the road 😨.

i have hard time thinking pg&e would take it on a trailer down road w/o laying mass down. pg&e would ratherr there drivers drive all the way around the block, rather than back a trailer into an area, if it can be driven in. also, there policy is, if two guys in cab, one must get out to back/motion the driver to back in no matter how short/open distance.

    Re: Forklift Repair

It was a trucking company not pge.
    The overpass is 16 feet.
    The driver did a opp's .
You can tilt the mast forward on 18" trailer down to 13-6.
On trailer the driver did not tilt the mast and left it up too.

Want can go wrong will go wrong.

I do not why it was a private trucking company.

    Re: Forklift Repair

I have a friend with one like that. He had to move it and when he let the mast down he used a come-a-long to control it when he let it down. The cable ran out of the come-a-long and came loose and just about broke the mast off the frame/differential. Lots of weight and very hard to move on city/interstate roads. He should not ever have to move it again.

It not hard to remove mast .

    1) remove hydraulic line on mast cylinder.
    2) remove pin in tilt cylinder
    3) There two plate at bottom that remove.
    4) just lift off other forklift.

I put on only on the mast it took a 1/2 hour. I was returning the other 8,000 pound forklift be for lunch.
