Respirartor that will fit under helmet

I've tried a bunch, not allow the helmet to fully close. I am using a auto dark Deko which I like because it is very comfortable with a great head harness. I'm not a PRO so I don't want to spend $400. for Pro helmet. I've tried the pancake Gerson, it is nice but still hits the lens, tried the Miller ML00895 Half Mask, same problem. All the throw away masks are of no value, they always allow dirt and, fumes to enter my nose and, lungs. Also all interfere with my glasses which are tri-focal. Any help would be thankful. Can't follow a line if I can't see it or the puddle.

Have you tried adjusting the helmet so you have more room?

I use one of these and it fits under every hood I have tried...Jackson, Lincoln, Harbor Freight, Hobart from TSC, the HTP stryker hoods, etc. 3M 7500 series with down draft exhalation and the pink pancake filters.

Yes, it's adjusted as far as it can go, still hits the AD lens.

Thanks, I'll give it a try, if all else fails then I'll have plenty of masks for grinding, mowing, burning and, whatever else.

I use a disposable that I buy at Lowes, it's a 3M similar to the cheap dust masks, its rated for welding fumes. I'm not sure of the number, but 8212 0r 8293, N95 series seems to be the rattle ball in my can, so maybe. They have a seal unlike the woven paper dust masks so they seal well, have an exhalation valve pointed downwards and I have not had fogging problems with them.

Try one of these made by North. It puts the cartridges behind your back. This was standard issue for welders when I was in the field. It should work with all welding lids.

I've harped on the res-po-rator here several times. Unfortunately da/aszhat never took my advice and went to a std 3m mount. If I see him, I'll whoop him.

He got his system NIOSH approved (US). Since NIOSH only allow system approvals, he cannot use another manufacturer's filters on his product...and remain approved. NIOSH requires everything to be approved together as a system - mask, filters, cartridges, accessories, etc. The only time you get to "cross the streams" is in the First Responder field where all cartridges are mandated to be the same connection for ease of interchangeability in emergency use. If he tried to sell or mount an adapter to 3M (or anyone else) he would get thumped by the feds (and probably the other company, too).

Problem solved, bought a Speedglas helmet. It has plenty of adjustment, this did the trick. Thanks for the replies. By the way, I can't get over how clear that speedglas ADF is, I like that.
