Big Blue 400D on down hill pipe.

Im practicing down hill pipe welding (API 1104). I bought a SA200 to do pipe welding, but damn that is a loud machine, even with a glass pack muffler. I think I'll try my BB 400, with the Duetz 2011 motor its not too loud. I was wondering any other fellow welders use a BB400 for down hill pipe. I'd love to buy a new Big Blue 400 Pipe pro, but my BB400 with 7800 hours runs great.

Use a larger car or pickup muffler.

A glass pack muffler isn’t what I would put on a welder when I want a quieter machine.
