    Power Plasma 80S questions

Is there a longer longer torch lead? The website doesn't say how long the torch lead is, I will receive mine tomorrow according to tracking info I just wonder if there are alternatives if the OEM torch lead is not long enough.

I also wonder what the cost of consumables for this is and where I can find more of them?

There is a longer torch available. The standard is 15 ft IIRC. However, it is no longer the 80S, it is now the 82i. New info will be up shortly. The manual is up under the manuals section however.

The Innotect iPT80 torch has several online suppliers. One is Plasmadyn, and the other is this site's own George's Plasma Cutter shop. Of course, we carry them as well.

I know very little about Plasma cutting, I got 1/8th inch material to cut i'm looking for gun setup recommendation. Tip, amperage, gas/air pressure? It seems to vary by model and manufacturer.

I did look in the manual but did not find specifics for cut range, just very vague indicators with a certain tip size and amperage starting at .9mm on up to 1.4mm. I did not understand that.

What is the purpose of the HF grounding bolt in the back, do I need to be using this?

No, no real need for this in your situation (bolt). It's for when you are having issues with frequency interference with electronics.

for 1/8th inch, you'd need the .9 mm and use about 35 amps or so. Or if you aren't concerned about kerf, and want the fastest speed, wide open 80 amps, and stock tip.

The 82i has an air pressure indicator that tells you when the Air Pressure is correct for the setting you are using, and it tells you if its too low or too high as well.

Ok thanks for the reply, unfortunately they sent me the 80S instead. I'm sure it will cut OK but would have been nice to get the shiny new green machine model with any of the added usability features. The tips included are all 1.2.

I'll have to purchase the .9 tips, there is none in the kit included with the machine. None on ebay, did not see any mentioned on E's site either. I'll just have to start calling around.

I found a stack of .9 drag cut tips on E-Bay but everywhere else it's scarce, still no sign of a gouging tip except for one guy selling it in Australia. >.>

    Re: Power Plasma 80S questions

Thanks for the suggestions got a good stock on tips now. So i'm looking at the back of my unit and see an air adaptor back there I was not expecting to find.
This is probably dumb but i'm stuck, no idea what to do with this. It's a push on air thing and i'm doubting that any sort of tubing that inserts into this would tolerate 90 psi. Any ideas?
I've been busy with other stuff and haven't really looked at the unit until recently, I am now retooling my air lines and getting it prepped for a more formalized plumbing setup (for cutting station and other stuff).

Your air regulator attaches to the port in the back. The tubing included in the package connects between the unit and the regulator and the unit. Have you downloaded the manual yet? On page 13 It shows it clearly and what to do.
