    Sheep Cove

Still brand new to welding but been a lurker here for years. Time to contribute something...even if it's just amusement at my expense.

Who: Me for the welding, add a couple teens in for moving it to it's more permanent home in the backyard and adding boards.
What/Where/Why: A sheep cove for the sheep to retreat to when bad weather rolls into Montana (they love it).
When: Pic labels say 2015 which means it's one of the very first things I metal-glued together ever.
How: Hot-rolled mild steel tubing and angle iron welded with 7018 and MIG just to see the differences. Oh...and used the plasma cutter to cut the longest verticles when I found out that just because something fits under the ceiling of the garage it's in, does NOT mean it fits under the lip of the garage door it has to exit through; moved and rewelded butted ends so I learned extra... lol!

Added painted particle board and clear corrugated greenhouse skylight to keep it light inside (later changed to board due to hail breakage).

Now if I can just figure out posting pictures here.

Welcome. It looks like it'll get the job done. How are the welds? That's the question.

Well it's held together through record snowfall and 50mph gusts regularly, so "it'll hold" seems to apply. I'll take some pics in daylight as now I'm curious too. I'll definitely find out next summer when we disassemble it and evaluate re-using the materials (no more sheep/goats/critters to worry about so it's coming down).

if you take some of those timbers and make a sled to mount it on, you can just pull it with a utv or tractor to where you need it and wont need additional help for that..
