Miller model Blue Star 180k welder/generator - gas engine runs well, stinger quit arcing during a job. Seems like less than four volts AC at the receptacles. Any ideas?

cwby: Thanks, I did find some general information in the operator manual at millerwelds.com. I have tested the fuse and the diode bridge for the exciter circuit. These test ok, so I must go deeper and check the rectifier windings and brushes/slip-rings.

Checked brushes, exciter ohms, etc. and everything fine. Finally found the cause of the outage: Vibration had rubbed two wires through their insulation, shorted, and perhaps fried something on the circuit board.
