Another Hinge question
Looking for a hinge that is slow moving. Will not allow a door to slam. Prefer no closing mechanism.
Seems like the opposite of my previous issue I want binding?
Any help? Where to look?

Re: Another Hinge question
What are you making? Do you have room for a dampening mechanism like a door closer ?

Re: Another Hinge question
Probably do. It is a glass panel door. The entire wall will be glass panels the door in the middle.
I will search dampeners. Looking for something minimal in size as it is residential.
Thanks

Re: Another Hinge question
Probably a bit late ...
Most glass doors in a frameless glass wall use "Floor Closers " with "Patch Fittings"
Usually in 12mm toughened glass.
They come in various styles , NHO (non hold open ) and standard . All that I have used have a screw adjustment for initial closing and an addition adjustment for the last 15° .They work hydraulically .
Just thought I would add , that a floor closer is recessed into the floor ... usually about 40mm (1 1/2") , so this needs to be planned and allowed for , the boxes vary from 110-160 wide and are usually 230 ish long .
Have literally done 100's , mainly for pool fences but also internally .
They are not hard, they just require accurate measuring of door and preplanning .
I feel confident of answering your Q's if you have any , it's just one of those things that whilst not that hard , can go wrong real quick if you hit things unexpected.
The things that usually are not overcomeable are thing out of you control in frameless work as you cannot drill holes in the glass surrounding your door if it is toughened (Tempered in US) , this will affect top pivot and latches , also your ability to recess floor box .
Hope this helps

A good guess is better than a bad measurement

What up, sir? Where have you been? Hope things have been well for you.
Not sure what you are talking about, patch fittings.
Actually I was just sketching the panels. Just submitted them a few minutes ago.

Hey Tapwelder.
And I hope you and yours are well in these trying times .
I have amended my original post .
A Patch fitting is what you fix to the door to facilitate the closer , top hinge and latch.

If Im getting that right , there are boxes that will stay open when opened to 90°, a NHO will not allow that . NHO are used in pool gates .
