    Which mig welder

Hello everyone Iím new here. Been welding for years but donít nearly as much as most of you guys. Iím look for suggestions on replacing a Miller 185 that was stolen. It was plenty machine for anything I do. Local welding supply store has a 212 left in stock might consider what replaced it the 235. 211 may do what I need but not sure. Thanks

] I have an old MM175 that has served me well for over 15 years and it doesn't owe me a dime. I've welded up to 3/8" with it beveling and making multiple passes. I imagine the 212 will do what you need.

The MM211 $1,355.00 will do just fine if the MM185 served you well.

What is the price of the MM212?

    That's not exactly a deal. $1,800.00

You need to get shielding gas cylinder? dont forget that in the costs.

the MM211 is 120v/240v so it could come in handy iffin' ya gotta weld some place that only has 120v input power.

My supplier has the 212 for $2350.00, $2200.00 sounds better.
Do you know of a supplier selling for less?
The 212 has a better Duty cycle than the 211 if that's a issue . It would depend on type of work and amps.
Higher duty cycle is great if you have stuff all tacked and you want to weldout.
Duty cycle was the reason I went to a higher amp machine.
I would get a package deal, machine ,125 or 150 tank, wire, and tips abd maybe upgrade hood.

Either the 211 or 212 will do anything that the 185 would do, so I wouldn't worry about that. We have a couple of new (last year) 212s at work and they're a nice machine. Having 120/240V as an option is a handy feature of the 211. If space isn't a consideration, and you don't think you would use/need the 120V capability I think the 212 is the better machine.

Yes if you dig around a bit. It seems to be pretty much a MM252 without the digital displays, timer functions (like pre-flow), and possibly the ability to be plug and play for a push/pull gun (I haven't read through the manual to confirm that). All of that is just going off reviews other folks have posted and looking at the spec sheets. It certainly seems like it should be a winner and the price is very attractive.

That Hobart is indeed worth looking at. Iím not stuck on miller but do really like them. Someone told me about the esab 235 (more capacity and higher duty cycle with 120v also)but I canít seem to find the mig only version. Also had a Hobart 140 (stolen). Would be nice to do it all with one. Thanks for all so far!

The Hobart Ironman II is a fine welder. My dad owns one and I use it quite often. It is a simple machine but I prefer it to the Lincoln equivalent (sorry MP something?). I use 300-500 amp Lincoln migs daily and I really enjoy the Hobart.

    What did you go with.

The 235mm is so knew it seems no ones ran a bead with it. All revi find on it are unpacking or just plain bs no review at all.
