    Undercarriage for Miller bluestar welder

I picked up this bluestar 2e very cheap non running. I got it all fixed up and running good, then made this undercarriage for it so I can move it around. I think the welder weighs close to 600 lbs. I am not a professional, but I am learning as I go. I got the square tubing free from work, and this was my first experiment with angles. The handles took me some time to figure out how I wanted to do the hinges, but I was happy with how they turned out. I tiged most of this.

Looks good. it appears you got have the angles figured out and well executed. The only thing I see that i think I would change would be to cap the ends of the round tubes on the handles, just something that I was taught to do.

Great design, and very well crafted. Are you planning to paint the welder too ? It is in great looking condition. I have an AEAD-200 which looks the same but just a little older and much more beat up. Did you use that to TIG weld the frame ? I have never used mine to TIG weld(scratch start) but its a great stick welder for sure.

Great job on the cart. Showcases your talents by having the angles on the "roll bar". You could buy plastic plugs to put in the round tube. I'd sand the welder down and paint it the same as the cart. Welder looks in great shape and you can read the front panel.

Nice work! As you well know the cart is worth more than the welder.

I diddnt plan on painting the welder, I hate painting plus It earned its scratches and bruises. I kind of like it the way it is. I didn't use this machine to weld it. I used my little everlast 160 amp inverter machine. I stick welded the angle iron frame that the welder is sitting on, and tig welded everything else. Thank you for the complements.

Thank you! half of the money I have into it is the leads. Im sure I could get my money back out of it if I ever wanted to sell it, but I plan on keeping it for now. I got it more for a project than anything else. Their aren't a whole lot of parts available for it anymore though...

Or in this case perhaps PLUG the tubes. Easier and (arguably) stronger.

that is a beautiful undercarriage i also have a 2e bluestar. i have recently had to do some repairs that i guess are very common on these single cylinder tecumseh. The flywheel magnets come loose and take out the stator . parts for these engines are nla so if you have the time pull the flywheel and jb weld the magnets in the flywheel make sure to mark them otherwise if the north south is incorrect it will not charge. i also added a rope wrap pull start pulley to mine was 2o$ on ebay and seems to start better with pulling it over than the electric start . beautiful 2e
