    Re: Steel Prices Increasing?

I spoke to our nearest steel supplier today and he told me that he stands by his quotes "...for only three days now." He quoted me a price of $100.89 for a 24' length of 1.5" square tubing (1/8" thickness) and, in the end, he apologized. He also told me that he can no longer locate any thin-wall tubing and, in general, that the steel market "...is getting to be stupid."

I guess before long we'll be building stuff with bamboo...sourced from China.

But we are told this inflation is only “transitory”. They must be cherry picking what to measure as everything I’ve been using is getting “stupid”….steel, lumber, gravel, concrete, fuel, silver brazing rods, copper piping etc. I do a little HVAC work on occasion and could only get a low SEER heat pump and they would put me on the list for a high efficiency air handler with no estimate on a ship date.
