Hobart 200 MG ,, driven by Volkswagen engine

I am asking for any info all of you can tell me about this unique unit. Volkswagen driven 200 mg unit.
I think it's a very interesting setup.

Some very creative backyard engineering. I’m confident the phrase “hold my beer” was mentioned. Possibly more than once.

That looks to be a fairly rare unit in amazingly good condition. It's before they had the removeable fine adjustment remote control and it only has 3 current ranges. It has a 10HP 3 phase motor but Hobart made machines with an extension shaft to hook up an engine. Usually the shaft extended out the other side. Very cool machine! Did some looking and found something similar that dates 1937 or older.

That is cool. I would have chosen a different power plant but that’s just me. I scrapped an old Hobart several years ago, it was huge!
