You'll find a lot of good info on here, years and years of experience, and every situation will be met with several answers from varied perspectives, some of the answers may sound a little harsh or brash, just answer questions and give as much info as you can & that will help the guys.

DANG IT! Actually I didn't know about Cleveland, New Mexico, even though I should have after living in the state for nearly15 years. Quick search didn't give a lot of info, but it's 2.6 miles from Mora, named after Grover Cleveland.

My maternal great grandparents lived in Chacon and my grandmother was a missionary there in 1923, I found a book that mentioned her ordering red paint from the general store in Cleveland to paint "her" pew with in the church in Chacon that my great grandfather built in 1879 and re-built in 1920. The church still stands and still holds services although the congregation is mostly in the single digits now. There is an old roller mill in Cleveland turned into a museum and every year they have a celebration with a parade, live music, food and sort of a flea market. The mill has been restored and is fully operational. Since my great grandfather had 200 acres and according to census reports some of it was planted with grain I have no doubt that flour was made at the mill using grain he farmed.

That's really cool. I love those stories like that.
I have a cousin that did a genealogy on our family on dad's side, traced us back to 2 brothers that floated in in 1632 IIRC.
