Baby Chinese Inverter Welders

Bought one of these little China inverter welders just to see what they are about. I must admit that so far I am pretty amazed. I used it to build some mounts for the front end loader I put on a tractor of mine. Burnt several 3/32" 6013 rods. I have no doubt it will burn 1/8" rods OK too. For less than $100 it is nice and portable. Sometimes I just can't get to my old transformer welder in the shop.

Yeap, I still have my Tooliom 135S 4lb inverter stick welder. It will run 1/8" 6011s, and just barely enough grunt for 1/8" 7018s @ ~112-115A. Cute lil bugger. Is yours on 120V or 240V?

Mine is 240 volt. I have a 10,000 watt generator I can hang off the back of my tractor so I can weld anywhere on my property.

Yea, they do become quite gut-less on 120V because the arc voltage really shoots down. On 240V, they're not all that bad for basic portable welding.

In between all the rain and cold, I got my loader on the tractor. Little "Baby Welder" did a surprising good job.

It is an NAA/ 1953 Jubilee. I have a 1960 651 Workmaster also.

Yea, they do become quite gut-less on 120V because the arc voltage really shoots down. On 240V, they're not all that bad for basic portable welding.

The little bit better 120 volt China inverters do quite well on 120 volts.. I liked the little Ironton from Northern tool.. You can't throw all the machines in the same boat on 120 volts..The very bottom feeders do suffer on 120 volts.. If you stick with 3/32 rod in 7018, some run the same as on 240 volts..

Mine runs a little cooler on 120V, but it still runs well.

Some of the little 160 amp category 120/240 units with PFC do a nice job on all electrodes 5/32 and under on 240v. 1/8 and under on 120v.. Very impressive on extension cords and genertors even on 120v.

I have yet to find one better then my 240 only small INE unit.. It a step above the Thermal 161s for sure..Jim, has one, and it a lot nicer then his Esab 161i He also had my Old Sanrex TS-160,The Thermal does not have the output of the Esab on 120 volts, but it's still a better machine running both with 3/32 7018 rod.. I am still shocked how some of the cheaper 120 volt only China machines run.. I think my Thermal LM-200 still might be my favorite,very easy to set the arc force for major differences in the arc type. having a 0-100 scale is simple, and effective. It's pretty much the same as a MST-400, just less output, and better with smaller wires

My uncle bought one very similar to the one in the OP. It didn't even have an earth wire.

He used it for roughly 2kg of rods before it died the other day.

What is that on the back of your NAA?
