Best metal cutting band saw in $1500 price range

If You had $1500 to spend on a metal curing bandsaw, which make and model would you purchase? Jet over Grizzly? Others that are better?

I'm sure you'll get plenty of replies like buy used, which often isn't an option. Whatever you decide a 3/4" blade would be minimum, 1" would be better. Jet in my opinion is priced on the high side for import machinery.

    Note - many off-shore multi-branded saws in the 1000-1500$
price range don't have blade roller-guide yaw adjustments.

If you cannot adjust the blade for plumb - the saw is junk . . .

I have a jet that i purchased through homedepot. I believe its the 7x 12. Yeah i paid more for it. But it showed up ready to go to work. I didnt have to f**k around with it for 2 weeks to get it to cut square. Its done everything I expected from it. And it meets your price range. Shop around. Good luck.

You can adjust it for plumb.... After you do some grinding. I did so many tweeks on my 5x7 jet, it was like i built it.

$1500 is a dead zone, seems like no real saws live there. However for that money, I agree 3/4 inch blade minimum , regardless of brand.

There might be some used covid deal upcoming.

Ellis great quality. Not the most functional saw especially for really precise work or high volume with many individual cuts it is slow.
The saw cuts great. It just has some annoying features. Like the vertical head interferes with vision, miter adjustment located low in back under the motor. And the hydraulic cylinder only has one valve adjustment. So down speed is adjusted each time you cut.

    I do like the saw.
