or a snatch block tied of to one of those big bushes and it would have been back on the wheels, but I think many of these youtube videos are done on purpose to get viewers..and destroying a tuck is just part of it, just hope the insurance company doesnt see the video..this idiot destroys some expensive stuff for his videos....

The guy obviously wanted out of the vehicle loan payments through insurance payoff.

Man, somebody should have take the keys away from the so called recovery driver, I am surprised he was able to drive to the location after seeing his extraction skills.

What a dumb-a--. maybe he should watch a couple videos, or attend a class himself before "helping".

Agree that rig could have been pushed back onto its wheels.

    Re: Appreciate The Help Fellas

We spent a lot of time at one of the lakes north of Phoenix, it's amazing to watch how stupid or ignorant people can be. My dad had a 4 part block & tackle that was strung with 5/8 nylon rope, he also had a a steel post & a sledge hammer that he packed. He would watch people back their boat into the lake, there was no concrete ramp, just sandy bottom and silt, they would get the rear wheels in and get stuck and bury it. Dad would sit & watch, then take the block, steel post and hammer and set up & pull them out. Generally there would be 6 or 8 guys around & he would get them all on the tail line from the block, that was usually enough to pull them out, once in a while we'd have to have a truck to pull them. The funniest was some guy had a fairly new Cadillac that he backed in until water was coming in the door seals. We always used a front hitch to launch our boat.

    Re: Appreciate The Help Fellas

This was taken from the comment section of the video, posted by the OP of the video.

This helps clear things up a little:

    1. I’m Not the owner of the vehicle.
    2. We were stuck behind it
    3. Owner of the truck ruptured his brake lines earlier. Was heading down but there were people on the road so he hit the wall and rolled to avoid them.
    4. Owner of the truck decided to remove the truck and unblock the trail. Guy in ram was passing by and helped do what the owner of the truck wanted. Truck was totaled and owner just wanted to move truck.
    5. No way of going back up the hill or risk another vehicle to use as anchor. Road was not flat and had many deep ruts. Would have damaged other vehicle.
    6. We had no say in what the owner wanted to do just helped clear the path so others co continue.

    Still horrendous to watch though!

Wonder if we ever were there when you were, I spent lots of time there (before they raised the dam). I used a front hitch as well to launch. Sure was hot there and not a speck of shade, I had a 12 volt swamp cooler on the camper and that made it very nice inside what with the humidity being so low. Over the years I ran two outboard boats and a 16 foot Hobie Cat on Lake Pleasant.

We were at Bartlett, 1967-about 1977. We loved that lake, there were no facilities, good fishing and water skiing. also liked Apache.

I guess that is the reason God made snatch blocks, maybe someone should have told them about them.

Apache was always at burnt corrals. A great spot, level for camp sites & the deepest part of the lake, awesome for the skis!

Yes we camped at Burnt Corral and boated to the marina where we would spend hours drinking then try to water ski back in the dark. Do you remember a guy from Larry's Marine, or a guy with a wooden leg? The guy with the wooden leg could water ski like a pro and he always freaked people out when docking by putting his wooden leg out just as the boat was about to contact the dock. Don't remember everyone's name and probably some dead by now.

Not off hand, the last time we were at Apache would have been in 1977, I was 22 fairly newly married, in fact that was the last time I got any water skiing done, Did you ever see a little green drag/ski boat running around with the name "LITTLE MISS GANGRENE?"
